Our figures

Where our figures come from

Every calculator here works from published UK figures: tax bands, National Insurance and student loan thresholds, statutory pay rates, property tax bands and more. Below is each set of figures, the period it applies to, when we last checked it against the official source, and a link so you can check it too.

How we check

When figures change, usually on 6 April with the new tax year or after a Budget, we update the calculators and compare every figure in the set with its official source. The date beside each set below is the last time all of its figures were compared and matched. Where there's no date, we haven't yet been able to confirm every figure in that set on an official page.

Each calculator also says, under its form, how current its figures are, and warns you plainly if they've gone out of date. The calculators and their figures are maintained by George Burgess. If you spot a figure that doesn't match the official one, please tell us.
